Oh my, Hotpot is the best!
I just had my dinner today, Taiwanese hotpot. I was craving a whole day for this food in my office, maybe because Taipei is quite cold today (nano nano spring-winter).
So this is Taiwanese hotpot. What make it different with another country hotpot? The soup. Taiwan hotpot soup has a strong flavor and scent and always followed by a fresh veggies and meats.
If you visit Taiwan, IMO there are some food you can't be missed (you haven't been to Taiwan without try these foods).
My best three are :
1. Hotpot (yes, hotpot!!) I place it as number one since this is my favorite one. The spicier the better (I guess I am still a vivid Indonesian)
2. Chicken Pie, famous as 雞排 (jipai). Woahh couldn't even describe it. Enough to make you drool just by looking at it (Two peck Jipai is my recommendation). Warning alert : being fat. lol
My recommendation 雞排,two peck.
3. Shaved Mango Ice (recommend : Monster ice 忠孝敦化)People loves enjoy this ice during summer and winter (yes, winter. quite strange how people enjoy ice in the middle of a cold weather).
4. Stinky tofu a.k.a chou dofu. It is being called as chou dofu because its smell. Some people dislike this food and doesn't even bother to try because of the smell. However, it is sure a food you couldn't missed in Taiwan. Despite its smell, it has a good taste.
Like don't judge a book from it's cover, don't judge a food from its smell.
